The Right Car Cover

Have you been looking for a car cover but don't know which cover to buy, I hope this article will help you make that decision. When you are in the market for a cover you will find there are many covers to choose from. A lot of that decision will be based on your location i.e. where the cover will be used and warranty and retailer information. The first thing we will talk about is the location that you will be using this cover. By location I mean are you in the Northern part of the USA or Canada? Or are you located on the East coast, West coast, Midwest, Southern states etc. Each one of these locations have their own weather. This should influence your decision on which cover you will need. The cold and snowy states will warrant a waterproof cover that will stand up to snow, ice, rain as well as the sun. There are the three layer and four layer covers that will handle these conditions. Next where the cover will be used, such as a garage or outside in the weather. If you will be covering a vehicle indoors like a garage, carport or storage building you will need a cover that will block dust and bird droppings also bumps and scratches. They make these covers in single layer and double layer. The single layer cover will stop dust and protect you vehicle if you are storing it. The double layer cover goes one step further by not only stopping dust but also stopping bird droppings from getting thought to your vehicles finish and it will also help protect against bumps and scratches from activity around your vehicle. These two layer covers are great for in the garage or under a carport. they are water resistant and UV treated to help with some exposure to the weather such as what may occur under a carport but are not recommended for outdoor use. Then there are the three and four layer covers made to handle all the conditions from inside storage to full time outdoor use. The three layer cover has a durable 1st layer with a breathable 2nd layer and a protective 3rd layer, all three of these layers make a waterproof and UV protective cover that will stand up to Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall and all your inside and outside storage needs. The four layer covers have all that the three layer cover has and then one more layer of fleece on the inside to protect your clear coat finish, great for your newer and show cars. I know when you are looking for a cover you will see many different types of names for these covers, but in the long run they all have either one to four layers of protection. So now that you know which cover you need the next thing to talk about is warranties. Covers come with one to five years of protection but they have limited liability. Which means you need to read the warranty and find out what it covers, most warranties cover just the normal manufacturer defects, some cover more. So as a consumer you have to read to make sure your cover will be replaced if something goes wrong. The last thing to talk about is the retailer, there are good retailers and bad, some of them offer a great return policy and even free shipping. There are ways to check on the retailer you want to use, I think that any good retailer should belong to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB has a very good reputation of keeping retailers honest. Check for the BBB link on the web site that you are thinking of using, you can check if there has been any complaints. You can also check the web to see if there has been any complaints about the retailer. Any reputable retailer should have a customer service number you can call to see if they really stand behind what they advertise. With this information in hand you should now be able to make a good choice in vehicle covers as well as RV, truck, van, boat, ATV, golf cart and any other covers you what to buy.

Car Covers And Christmas Holidays

Hi everybody this blog has been about sharing information on covers, from the simple car cover to the large RV covers. And it's that time of year to stop and thank all the people that have helped our websites and blogs do so well. From all of us at D. R. Global Marketing thank you and have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Now that we have said our thank you we need to carry on with the cover information highway. This time of year there are more then a few good reasons to purchase a cover for your vehicles and RVs. Just look outside and what do you see? If you are in the Eastern part of this country you probably see snow and ice. If your from the Midwest you will be looking at either snow or rainy conditions, then there is the Southwest part of this great country and yes the sun is still shining bright there. If you are from this part of the country count yourself as one of the lucky ones. There are covers for both vehicles and RVs that are made just for the intense sun UV rays. These covers are called the Tyvek cover it uses a material made by Dupont. This material will stand up to the sun much better than any other cover material in the Southern part of our country. It is white to reflect the sun and help keep your vehicle or RV cool on the inside. The Tyvek cover is a single layer cover that provides both waterproofing and UV protection. I recommend this cover to all our customers that live in the Southwest and any place that needs that extra protection from the sun. Now for the customers that live in the Northwest, Midwest or East and far North. There are covers made for you in mind. First the 3 layer waterproof cover will provide great protection from snow, ice, rain, damp conditions and long periods of seasonal storage. This cover is made with three layers the first layer is made of a durable material the middle layer is a waterproof but breathable material and the third layer is a protective material. This cover is an excellent cover for the cooler and wet parts of this country and others. Then there's the four layer covers they have all the properties that a three layer cover has plus a fourth inside layer of fleece, this fleece will protect your clear coat finish on your show cars, brand new vehicles and any type of car, truck ,SUV, van or station wagon you want to give that little extra love to.
Well I think there are many good reasons to cover your vehicles both in the Winter months and Summer months and that is to protect your investment. At the price we are paying for our vehicles and RVs you need to protect them from the normal day to day nicks and scratches as well as environmental exposure from acid rain to bird droppings that can fade your paints finish.

RV Covers Make Great Gifts

Happy Holidays to all. Car covers, RV covers, Golf Cart covers and more make for a great gift during the holiday season. You be pleasantly surprised this year when you friends and loved ones open there gifts and are very happy with what you got them. There are a couple of reasons why covers make a great gifts. First is pretty obvious, they are used to protect one of your biggest investments, your vehicles. Next is the convenience of having a cover to protect your vehicle. Not having to wash your vehicle as much, not having to scrape your windows in winter, keeping the vehicle finish looking like new. These are just some of the conveniences that a vehicle cover will bring. Then there is the protection factor, stopping all those scratches from ruining your paint job. The next time you are parked under a tree you won't have all that tree sap and bird droppings on your vehicle. The rain now a days has a lot of harsh chemicals in it that can damage your vehicles finish. These are some of the reasons you should get a vehicle cover for a holiday gift.

There are a lot of RVs that sit in storage lots most of the year. When I drive by these RV storage lots I often wonder why only a few have covers on them. I think it can't be the cost of a cover, if you spend $10,000.00 to $500,000.00 on an RV how can you not spend $200.00 to $500.00 on a cover that will help keep your RV value. RV covers not only protect the exterior they also protect your interior from the suns UV rays that fade your drapes and carpet, also the heat that builds up in the interior can damage just about everything inside. This is the year to buy an RV cover for your friends and family. They will thank you for thinking of them and maybe you will get invited on there next trip in the summer.

I really think you can't go wrong in buying a cover as a gift, all my friends and family have some kind of vehicle they could use a cover for. At this time of year it's always hard to think of a gift that somebody doesn't already have. Make it a vehicle cover and you will make somebody happy for the holidays.

Car Covers and Winter Weather

Well here we go again, it won't be long before the snow will be falling and the cold and wet winter will be here for the next several months. There is one thing that I really hate is to have to scrape my vehicle windows in the morning before I go to work. There is a way around doing that and that is to have a vehicle cover. When you have a cover on your car, truck, SUV or other vehicle you won't have to spend that time scraping or brushing the snow and ice from your windows. That alone will give you another 15 to 30 minutes to enjoy the warm comfort of your house or apartment, and to have another cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate before heading off to work.

It is also that time of year to winterize your RV's before the temperatures get below freezing. Make sure you drain you water storage tanks and get antifreeze pumped through all of your supply lines. The other day a friend told me about a mistake he made when winterizing his RV this year. He did all the things you should do and thought he was ready to cover his RV for the season. Turned off the appliances and shut down the propane tanks so everything was off. After putting his RV cover on he checked it the next week to make sure all was OK. As he walked around his RV he noticed a hole in the cover and it looked like a burn hole. It took him some time to think how that could have happened when everything was turned off. Well the one thing he forgot was the two way switch on his hot water tank, even though the propane was off the electric was still on and the heating element came on in the hot water tank and got hot enough to burn the cover. So he asked me to bring this to peoples attention so maybe they wouldn't make the same mistake.

So one thing you can be sure of is that winter is close by and now is the time to get ready for the cold wet days ahead. So get your RV's ready and think about that cover for your vehicles before you have to scrape those windows this year.

Well that's it for this week if you have any questions about vehicle covers please visit our web site at www.clickitcoverit.com

RV Storage Covers

It's that time of year again for storing your RVs and other vehicles for the winter months. It is very important to prepare your RV and recreational vehicles for the cold and wet months ahead. If you live in the Southern states just storing in the off months that you don't use them. In the Northern states you need to prepare your RV for the freezing temperatures and the wet snow and ice. The most important thing is draining your water tanks and using an antifreeze in your line to prevent them from breaking. Then there is the cover for your RVs and other recreational vehicles. Choosing the right cover can make a big difference in how your RV will stand up to the snow and ice. There are many types of RV covers out there, some are for the intense sun and other are for the wet and snow of winter. When you are looking for a cover for your RV I think that the Internet is the best source for information and selection of RV covers. Some of the things you want to do when looking for your RV cover is check the size of your RV. Measure for the bumper to the rear bumper to see exactly how long your RV is, the manufacture my say that your RV is a 26' travel trailer but when you measure it you find that it is 26'6" long and that can make a difference in picking the right size RV cover. Next check the width and height. Some of the new RVs are taller then said to be and you want to check this by measuring from the top edge to the bottom of the trailer edge. The covers come with room for your AC and racks on top so don't worry about that. the width has also changed over the years so you may find your trailer is wider and you need to check this when you are ordering the cover. If the cover measurements are not on the web site then give them a call and they will help you get the right size cover for your RV.

There are a couple of different types of materials to choose from in RV covers. The Tyvek cover works well in the southern states as it reflects the UV rays and helps to cool the interior temps. There are a couple of draw backs with this cover, when installing and removal you may rip this cover it is a single layer cover and can rip petty easily. I prefer the polypropylene woven fabrics that come in two or three layers. This material will breath and not allow condensation to build under the cover. The Recreational vehicle covers have been made for years now and they have a lot of nice features. Like venting at the top to help keep moisture out and dryness in. Zippered panels allow complete access to the door, rear and sides. Adjustable front and rear tension panels provide a custom-like fit and many more.

So this year when getting your RV ready for storage take the time to invest in a cover and you will be glad you did. When next spring comes around and you uncover you RV you will see how much the cover has done to protect your investment. Keeping it cleaner and also protecting your exterior finish from oxidation. It will also protect your interior from the suns UV rays that can damage things like your drapes, counter tops, rugs and any plastic fixtures. Also help to keep the temperatures down on the inside of your RV.

Car Covers For The Wet Weather.

Well fall is here and the wet and cold weather is coming soon if not already. At this time of year we start to put away all our RV toys and they should have a cover over them to protect them from the wet and snowy months ahead. From RV large and small to your ATV and other vehicles it is a great idea to cover. Having a cover will keep them high and dry till next season when you are ready to hit the road and start having some summer fun. There are a couple of things the cover will do for you. Like protect it from the moisture and sun as well as help to keep it cleaner the next time you use it.

I find fall the best time of the year, the temps start to cool and the sun is a lot less intense. The trees start to change colors and the lawn doesn't need to be mowed as much. The kids are back in school and it gives me time to work on things around the house with less distractions. Getting your RV and other vehicles ready for storage is a little work but will pay off next season. Your RV should have antifreeze in the lines and you should check all your service items before storage. Your other vehicles won't need as much work to store. Your cars and trucks that you drive every day could us a cover also to protect them from the rain, ice and snow. It's nice to get up in the AM and instead for scraping your car windows before going to work you can just pull the cover off your vehicle and your ready to go. If your cover is wet just lay it out to dry during the day and when you get home it will be ready to put back on your car. Most of the covers are mildew resistant. There are covers that are waterproof and also UV treated to help stand up to the wide variation of climates .

When you decide to look for a cover for your RV or other vehicle the Internet is the best place to start. There you will find all the information and selection of covers for all of your vehicle choices. One thing to think about when you are looking for a cover is location, were you will be using that cover in the Northwest where it rains and or snows often or in the East were there is a lot of ice and snow. Or even in the Southern states where the sun is a factor. There are covers to handle all these climates. Next you need to check the warranties to see if the cover has a long life to protect your vehicles. and don't forget to check shipping policies to see how and when you will receive your cover. You should also check what their return and exchange policies are so there are no surprises. Some sites offer free shipping which is nice. After you have done your home work then you will be ready to purchase a cover.

I have been using covers for all my vehicles and RV toys for years and when I get ready to trade or sell them they always bring me more money for the little cost of that cover. So I think it is well worth the time and money to cover and protect your investments. You will enjoy there new look and also get more out of them when its time to upgrade to something better.

RV Covers Now That Summer Is Over

Now that summer is over you should start thinking about an RV cover for your travel trailer, 5th Wheel, Class A, Class B, Toy hauler or any other RV vehicles you might have. You have spent this year enjoying your RVs and now that summer is over it's time to get them ready to store for the winter season. There are several things that need to be done before the cold weather gets here. The first thing to do is drain all the water from your storage tanks, heater and water lines. Now fill it back up with an RV antifreeze that you can get at any RV supply store. Then go through all your storage and remove anything that can freeze or be damaged by the cold weather. Once that is done, give it a good cleaning inside and out so it will be ready for the next time you take it out. Before you store it go down the service list and check all the items that need to be serviced. Now the last thing to do is park it and install the Wheel Covers and RV Cover.

There is a very good reason to cover your RV, the sun, rain and wind can damage not only the outside but the interior also. The suns UV rays can damage all the plastic and rubber on your RV exterior, the sun can also damage the inside like the curtains, counter tops, rugs and anything else that high heat can effect. Having a cover on your RV will stop the suns UV rays from damaging your RV finish, without a cover your exterior paint, plastic and rubber will start to oxidize from the sun speeding up it's destruction. RV covers also cut down on heat build up inside your RV. And a good set of RV wheel covers will keep your tires from cracking and drying out in the sun which consequently will speed up the need for replacement.

There are many RV cover manufacturers like Gold Line, Expedition, Adco, Aqua Shed, Traveler, Tyvek just to mention a few, so picking the right cover can be confusing sometimes. If you do your homework and go to each manufacturers website you can compare the covers and warranties, then start looking for the best price. Some sites may have free shipping which will get you the cover you want for less and will be happy with for years to come. Doing a little work to find the right cover for your RV will pay for itself in the long run. RV covers will keep your RVs looking and lasting a lot longer. Having a cover on your RV shows that you are a person that cares about your RV, not to mention protecting your investment.

Storage And Drivable Golf Cart Covers

Now is a good time to get the golf cart cover for the rain storms that are coming. There are golf cart storage covers and drivable covers. The storage cover is a great way to keep your golf cart clean and out of sight during those winter months, you can also keep your clubs on the cart and cover them too, keeping them protected and out of sight as well. There are some really nice storage covers out there for your golf cart, the two tone color covers is a nice look and there's the camouflage cover that a lot of people like when you need to store your cart outside it helps it blend in and keeps the cart clean and ready to use next season. Then there is the solid color covers that come in tan, green, black and white a color for everybody. The golf cart storage covers come in 2 and 4 person covers, they have a zipper in the back so if you need to get to clubs you can. They are light weight and easy to install. If you haven't got your cover for this year you should do it now before you forget and the supply runs low at the end of the season.

The drivable golf cart cover is a life saver on the course, have you ever been playing a round and here comes the rain and yes you got the cart but the only thing that cart dose is give you a place to sit in the rain, and rain never falls straight down there is usually a wind so the rain just blows in on you and your clubs. That's the nice thing about a drivable golf cart cover, even when you have the cover on your cart the windows roll up and tie so they are not in the way. When you start to see the rain it only takes a few minutes to roll them down and zip them shut for your defense against the rain, you and your clubs and bag will stay dry until the rain passes or you make your way back to the club house. These drivable golf cart covers come to fit both 2 and 4 passage carts. They also come in colors to match your cart or a color you like. Ive heard of a person using the drivable camouflage cover on his golf cart to go hunting for deer.

You will be a well liked guy or gal when the rain and wind comes and you can close up your golf cart to protect your friends and gear they will thank you for this and maybe even buy you a drink back at the club house. So don't wait until the season is over get that storage or drivable golf cart cover now, it will cost you less then your driver did.

Custom Car Covers a Plus or Not

There has always been a argument about whether or not the custom car cover a better buy than a semi custom car cover. Well hopefully today we will get to the bottom of this subject. There are many vehicle cover manufactures making custom covers today. They make them custom to your year, make and model of your vehicle or you can ask for custom covers made to your dimensions. This process ends up with a cover that fits your vehicle form and also has mirror pockets. These covers come in a wide variety of colors and materials that can have your custom logo also. The one thing that is a given is you will pay top dollar for these covers. There are pluses to having a custom cover made for you like the fit, these covers will fit to the form of your vehicle this does cut down on rubbing your finish in the weather on windy or stormy days. Having mirror pockets also keeps the cover form fitted to your vehicle. Then there is color and material choices. The color choice is important as to the sun's rays being reflected or absorbed. This is the UV factor when you have a light color the UV rays will be reflected away from the cover and it will last longer and keep it cooler in the hot climates. When you choose a dark color the sun's rays will be absorbed and the UV ray's will break down the material quicker and the vehicle will collect the heat in hot weather. Some of the negatives are the cost, the custom cover will cost you as much as three times as a semi custom cover. The custom cover is a tight fitting cover and when it comes to putting it on and off you will spend a lot more time doing this and those mirror pockets can be a pain in the butt. When you are ordering a custom cover the sales person or web site will try to sell you as much extras as they can this will drive the price up and even if money is no option you still will feel this in your pocket book. There are many options to choose from like logos, storage bags, stitching color, inserts, multiple color covers, treatments like UV or Waterproofing. All these extras will cost more and more. So buyer beware you can spend a lot of money on a custom cover that has warranties the same as semi covers or even shorter.

The semi custom covers, this won't take long because they are made with the customer in mind. When you are looking for a semi custom cover the manufacturer has made them easy to buy. The covers are made to fit more then one vehicle and with out a lot of fancy stuff to think about. They come in only a few colors to choose from and they come with their own storage bag. They have a good choice of materials to choose from. The covers come with water and UV treatments at no extra cost. The cost is right on the mark. When you are looking for one of the semi custom covers the best place to get one is on the Internet. There are many great sites to choose from and they offer good information and e-mail or phone help if you need it. It is easy to find your cover for your vehicle as most of the sites have a sizing system where you simply input your year, make, and model and a selection of covers in different color and material are there to choose from. If the site doesn't have this system they will have a sizing chart you can look up your vehicle on or all you need to do is measure the length of your vehicle and look for that cover size on the site. If you still need help just call or e-mail them and they will be happy to help. All the semi covers come with elastic on the front and back hem to adjust to a good fit for your vehicle, and they come with tie down grommets to us with a cable lock for security or just to help keep it snug and prevent the wind from getting under the cover causing billowing or loss of cover. When it comes to putting the cover on and off not being as much of a tight fit will make it a lot quicker and your won't have to fight with the mirror pockets. Bottom line the semi custom covers have great warranties, ease of selection and won't put a dent in your pocket book.

Car Covers In The Wet And Cold Weather

Hello again time for another article about car covers. This week we will talk about the wet weather and how your car cover handles it. I live in Northern Arizona and we have been getting a lot of rain this year during the monsoon season. I have a waterproof cover for my Jeep and when it rains there is some moisture under it, I thought it was waterproof and it is, the moisture I'm seeing is condensation from the temperature change when the rainy weather come blowing in. Even though I live in Northern Arizona the day time temps can get up there around 102 degrees some days. And when the rainy weather come the temps will drop by 20 to 30 degrees and this can cause condensation to form under the cover. So it may look as if the cover is leaking but it's not, if you give it some time after the rain has stopped and things start to dry out the cover is made to breath and this will wick away the condensation from under the cover. If you have a rain storm and the cover is wet and the day turns to night you will defiantly have condensation under the cover in the morning. The drop in temps will cause this to happen and if you can leave the cover on you will find it will dry out underneath in just a little while. If you live in parts of the country that gets very cold like below freezing you may find your cover stuck to the vehicle, this happens when during the day the sun warms up your vehicles finish and causes condensation to form under the cover and as the temps fall below freezing the cover freezes to your vehicles finish. If you have time to let the cover warm up it will come off your vehicle with out hurting the cover. But if you need to get the cover off right now we suggest pouring hot water on the cover to help it release from the finish. If you try to force the cover off you will damage it and it may lose it's waterproofing capabilities.

There are two different types or waterproof covers, first there is the water resistant cover, this cover isn't waterproof but it will help stop some of the water from getting underneath the cover and still will breath to help dry out after the storm. The true waterproof cover is 100% waterproof meaning that no water can get under the cover, but you will see condensation under it so don't think it is leaking because it's not. It also can breath and will dry out after just a little time. I get this question a lot about waterproof covers and they always think it's leaking, so then I have to explain about the condensation factor. These water resistant and waterproof covers are also mildew and mold resistant and UV treated to stand up in all kinds of weather. When your cover gets wet you should try to dry it out before you fold it up or stuff it in the storage bag, this will help it to last longer and to maintain the waterproof treatment as well as the mold and UV treatment. We suggest if you can to leave the cover on the car until it is dry or if you must take it off wet, to lay it out unfolded so it can dry before storing it away.

I hope this information has been helpful in answering some of your questions and explaining some proper care of your covers. If you would like more information about vehicle covers and accessories please visit us at http://www.clickitcoverit.com

Car Covers And The Last Lotus Drive

As the writer for the Internet website ClickitCoverit.Com I sometimes hear stories that make my heart drop. The other day I got a phone call from the owner of LotusOwners his name is Tony he was trying to get a couple of car covers sent to him right away. He lives in New York and has had a club for Lotus owners for the last 20 some years. He had asked if I could send two Tyvek covers right away because one of the club members was not doing so well and they need the covers for a road trip they are taking on 8/18/2010. I told him that we would make sure he would get the two covers before 8/17. He then told me why it was so important that these covers arrive before there trip. A gentleman named Floyd was going to take what maybe his last trip in his super 7 Lotus that his son had bought for him. His son lives in Hong Kong and had bought this lotus for his father as a gift before he dies of cancer. Tony had told me that his son called him and told him to find a super 7 lotus so he could give it to his father and he could take a trip before he passed away. Tony said that he would do this for him and got the car. Floyd was concerned that it might rain on there trip in New York and asked Tony to get covers for their cars he didn't want them to get wet. I have gone to Tony's website LotusOwners on the front page you will see Floyd setting in his super 7 lotus. This story has touched my heart and my blessings go out to Floyd and his family. The Tyvek covers we are sending to Tony will work well to protect there vehicles in the sun and wet weather, they are light weight and are mold and mildew resistant. Yes the covers will arrive well before there trip I have made sure of that under the circumstances. This is just one of the stories I have heard working in the retail car cover business. I have been writing articles now for almost two years and I enjoy it very much.

There are a lot of different types of car covers being sold on the Internet today and the Tyvek cover is one of the best, it is made of a Dupont material that is high in UV and heat protection also water repellent as well as mold and mildew resistant. This cover is made for all kinds of applications including cars, trucks, vans, RVs, SUVs, boats and more... The protection it provides is well worth the cost.

Car Covers RV Covers And Boat Covers

This article is going to cover the wide range of covers for all your vehicles. Not only are there covers to protect your cars, trucks, vans but there are covers to protect all your RV's as well like trailers, 5th wheels, class A, class C, pop up campers, truck campers. Then there are covers for all your watercraft from boats, jet skis, runabouts, pontoons and inflatables. Now I'm sure that you have at least one of these if not more. So just think about the money you have invested in these vehicles and how it is in your best interest to protect that value. For the money you would spend to cover your vehicles you will get back 10 fold that amount when you trade or sell it. Even if you keep your vehicles and toys in a storage building it is to your advantage to cover them.

Whether you are covering your car, truck, van, station wagon, limousine or dune buggy, having a cover will not only help keep their value but also keep the vehicle looking good like the day you bought it. There are many types of covers sold today and they all have their uses, like the light weight single layer cover which is best for inside use and will keep dust and other mishaps from damaging your finish. Then there are the three layer and four layer covers that are made for outside use. These covers will keep rain, snow, ice, tree sap, acid rain, dirt, dings and scratches from doing harm to your vehicles. The three layer cover is a waterproof cover that will do all the above to protect your investment. The four layer covers go one step further to protect your finish with a fleece lining, this will keep your clear coat staying that way, clear with out the spider web look. So a cover is a small price to pay for the protection they give.

RV Covers, it could be for a travel trailer, 5th wheeler, toy hauler, folding pop up trailer, truck camper or any accessories like wheel covers or propane tank covers protect your RV's from the weather, sun, ice and snow so they look their best when your ready to hit the road for some down time or just a vacation away from home. They also will help keep your RV's value for years to come. Most RV covers come in three and four layer covers, there is also a tyvek cover that is made of a white one layer material. This unique material was developed by the Dupont Corporation. This sun-reflecting white Tyvek material provides maximum UV protection which reduces fading of your RV paint and interior. I Love My Car Cover

I have been driving for over 35 years and have always taken good care of my cars. In the last few years I have been using a car cover to protect my vehicles and what a difference it has made. For many years I would spend every weekend washing and detailing my cars exterior and interior. Now with the car cover I spend time doing the things I love instead of work my weekends at home cleaning my ride. I only have to wash my car once a month and the inside also stays cooler during the summer months. It makes me think of all the time I spent trying to keep my car clean and looking good, also the money I lost when I would take it to a dealer for a trade-in. Your vehicles are an investment that will lose their value if you don't take good care of them. Like I said I would spend every weekend cleaning my car, not having a cover the exterior finish would lose it's luster and the interior would suffer from the sun and heat. Now with the car cover my vehicles hold their value for a longer time and when I would trade them in I would get a better price for them. Having a cover for my vehicles is the best investment I ever made for my cars.

There are many types of covers made for your vehicles today. There are covers for all kinds of climates and environments. If you need protection in your garage there are light weight covers made just for that. If you keep your vehicle outside in the intense sun of the Southwest there are covers made just for that too. For those that live in the Northern or Eastern part of this country there are covers to handle all the weather mother nature can throw at it. Let's first talk about the covers to protect your vehicle in your garage or in a storage building. This cover is great for keeping the dust of your car and to stop the little dings and scratches that you get when somebody is walking by it and my rub against the finish. The indoor cover will not stand up to the sun vary well and isn't waterproof, so it is recommended for indoor use only. Next we have the tyvek covers that are made to handle the sun of the Southwest. This sun-reflecting white Tyvek material provides maximum UV protection which reduces fading of a vehicles paint and interior. This space-age, lightweight Dupont Tyvek is easy to handle and store. It's long been used by contractors to protect homes during construction. HAZMAT suits are also made from Tyvek to protect people from the most harmful conditions. It is fast drying, mold and mildew resistant and will help protect a vehicle from acid rain, tree sap, dust and other harmful pollutants. Then we have the three and four layer covers made to handle all the weather conditions, they are waterproof and have been UV treated to stand up to the sun. The weather in the wet and coldest parts of the country need a cover like this. From Alaska to New York the three and four layer covers will stand up to weather to protect your vehicles.

When you are looking for a cover for your vehicle I think the Internet is the best place to shop. On the Internet you can find all the information at your finger tips and also find a complete selection on sizes for all your vehicles may it be a car, truck, motorcycle, RV etc. You will also have a source to contact them for any questions you might have before you make your purchase. If you go to a retail store like an auto parts or Walmart you will have a very limited choice of covers and the only information about the cover will be whats on the box.

I think it was the best thing I ever did to protect my vehicles and to give me more time to enjoy the weekends doing the things I love. So get a vehicle cover and it will pay of itself by keeping your vehicles value and saving you money in maintenance.

Hot Weather And Car Covers

If you are looking for a vehicle cover that can stand up against the sun, the the tyvek cover is the cover you are looking for. This cover reflects the suns UV rays with its white color and reduces heat build up in the vehicle. The tyvek cover has been on the market for years and is used in all kinds of outdoor covers, from cars, RV, boats and more you will see this cover doing its job. The material used to make the tyvek cover comes from Dupont and is used by contractors to protect your homes, and to make HAZMAT suits to protect the people how us them. This material is fast drying and mold and mildew resistant.

There is a location that this cover is used more than anywhere else. The Southern part of the US. The reason is the sun and heat that this part of the country gets every summer. The suns UV rays will cause damage to anything left outside. When you cover a vehicle outside in the sun you best use tyvek covers to protect it. It will outlast any other cover made today. You can find these covers online by just typing in the search box tyvek covers' and you will have many web sites to give you general information about the use of and general information about tyvek covers.

I have had many people tell me that the tyvek cover is the best for the sun and heat. There are a few things that I would like to tell you about this cover. The tyvek cover is a one layer cover, it is light weight and can be easily damaged. When you are ready to put your cover on make sure there are no sharp edges or corners that can slice the cover as you pull it over you vehicle. That is the only complaint about this cover. After you have had this cover out in the sun for many years it does become a little brittle and can be damaged when you install and remove the cover, so if you take a little time to check for sharp corners and edges your cover will last that much longer.

The good things about tyvek covers: its light weight and easy to store, doesn't take up much space, it is the best protection from the sun, you can find this cover for just about any vehicle, boats, RVs and more, the cost is low and it's white to reflect the sun and heat. So over all this cover gets my high rating. So the next time you are looking for a cover to protect your investments try a tyvek cover you will be glad you did.

Summer and the RV Covers

It's almost summer time and do you have your RV cover yet. On June 21 it will be the first day of summer and many of you will be heading off to the the woods, lakes and beaches of America. Some of you have your RVs stored away in storage yards and some of you are going to buy a new RV this summer. One way or another you will need a cover for your RV either a new one for that new RV or a replacement for the old cover that has seen better days. There are many reasons to be covering your RV's. The first thing that comes to mind is to protect your RV from the rains that contain chemicals that can corrode the aluminum and wreak havoc on your finish. The sun UV rays will also oxidize your finish and dry out your plastic and rubber parts in very little time. It only makes sense that if you plan to spend from $30.000.00 to $250,000.00 on your new RV that you should have no trouble spending a couple hundred on a cover to protect your investment. There are RV covers for all types of recreational vehicles including class A, class B, class C, travel trailers, 5th wheels, toy haulers, truck campers and pop up folding trailers.

When you go looking to get that new or replacement RV cover you should look for a cover that has good quality and warranty to stand behind it. You will find that there are a lot of RV cover suppliers out there and I think the best place to look is the Internet. Looking on the world wide web you will not only find all the cover styles, models and manufacturers also the right price and warranties to choose from. There is also lots of information about the products and types of materials the market is selling today.

The RV industry has been improving on there products every year and the materials have been changing with the new technology also. If you were to go looking for an RV cover at your local RV store you will have a limited supply to select from and the information will only be as good as the salesman's knowledge at that store. I myself think that the Internet has so much more to offer. If you have a question about a certain cover almost all the websites today have a customer services number or a click and ask button to get any information you need. If you need more information just type your question in the search box and any one of the search engines will search out your answer for you.

Once you find a RV cover you like you can price shop on Google, BizRate, Shopzilla, Nextag, Pricline and more. Having RVs is a lot of work to keep them looking good you have to wash them and take care of the finish and external parts, if you were to cover your RV you would find out that there would be a lot less work keeping it looking good. So the little time it takes to cover is well worth it. Here's a little tip on how to install your RV cover.

How do you install an RV cover?

RV Covers can be installed WITHOUT climbing on the roof of your RV by utilizing stepladders. Depending on the vehicle, you may be able to save time by climbing on the roof. Below you will find a description of the process as told by one of my friends. Please note that extreme caution should be taken when climbing on top of your RV. RV Cover installation gets easier with practice. Most full size coaches can be covered and secured in under 10 minutes.

1 ) Place the Cover at the rear of the R.V. next to the ladder. Find the front of the cover on the ground.

2 ) Lower all antennas. PAD ALL SHARP EDGES AND SHARP CORNERS. Pad anything that could snag or tear a hole in the cover. Remove the antenna if possible.

3 ) Pull the front of the cover up with you as you climb up the ladder.. Once on top of the R.V., pull as much as you can towards the top, creating a pile of cover next to your feet. Once the pile gets big enough, stretch it towards the front of the RV.

4 ) Once a strip of cover is created, start at the front by pacing the cover over the corners, working your way towards the back, allowing the cover to drape over the sides of the R.V.

5 ) Once you are at the rear of the R.V., place the cover over the corner (opposite of the ladder). Climb down the ladder pulling the cover down with you. Put ladder cap (if needed) in place prior to covering the rear bumper.

6 ) Once you are on the ground, start adjusting the cover all they way around the R.V. First secure the rear corners under the R.V. and make your way around the front to do the same with the front corners.

Vehicle Covers A Good Choice

Making the choice to get a vehicle cover is a good plan, there are many reasons to cover your vehicles, I will break down these reasons in this article. In general when you buy a vehicle cover for your car, truck, motorcycle, boat or other RV or ATV you are making a wise decision to protect your asset and the value of the vehicle. There are many cover company's out there today so choosing the right cover from the right company can be hard sometimes. I will also talk about how to find the right cover and company to buy your vehicle cover from.

Why is buying a vehicle cover a good idea? First you are protecting your vehicles value, next you are helping keep its resale or trade-in value and last of all you are keeping your vehicle looking the best it can by keeping it cleaner, having to wax and wash it less, and helping to keep all those dings and scratches away.

When you decided to look for a cover for your vehicle, the first thing to consider is where you will be covering this vehicle. Will it be inside or outside or even both. What is your location, is it mostly sunny or rainy or both. If you are covering your vehicle in your garage or under a carport you will have to decide if you need a light weight cover or a three or four layer cover that will also help when something rubs or bumps up against your vehicle. If under a carport you may have rain coming in on your vehicle. This scenario would require a waterproof cover. Some of you will have your vehicle outside all the time, the covers to be used for outside protection have UV and waterproof treatments to make them stand up to the harsh environmental conditions, therefore, the dust cover is not the best choice for this.

Some of you will be living in areas that have heavy winters to contend with. The three and four layer covers will be needed for this. They work both inside and outside and are treated to withstand all that mother nature can throw at it whether it's sun, rain, snow or ice. Some of you will be in the Southern part of the country where there is intense sunshine as well as rain to deal with. The Tyvek cover is light weight and white in color to reflect the sun and heat. It is also water resistant. Then there is the three layer waterproof covers which will work well here but if you have a vehicle that is new or just repainted or maybe a collector vehicle you will want the four layer cover with the fleece lining for total protection of your vehicles finish. Something to note is if you have just repainted your vehicle you will want to wait at least three months until the finish has hardened before using a cover.

All of the vehicle covers can be used inside and out, but some of the light weight covers are best used inside only with light outdoor use. The warranty will not cover a dust cover for outside use. This cover will fall apart after a short time in the sun, weather or high winds. These dust covers state that they are for inside use. The warranty for the three and four layer covers including the waterproof covers will cover their use outside. So make the right choice of use and you will have the proper protection. The different types of vehicle covers come with warranties of different lengths, so make sure you check the warranty before you buy.

Choosing the right company is up to you but there is a few things you should look for. You can find these cover suppliers in retail stores or on the Internet. I know that the suppliers on the Internet have a larger selection to choose from and they will have more information about their covers then just looking at a box in your retail store. The one advantage the retail store has is if you want to return the cover you just take it back to the store you bought it at, whereas if you buy a cover over the Internet and its not right you will have to pay the shipping to return it. Most of the Internet sites have a 30 day money back guaranty. And if you have a warranty return you will have to pay the return shipping even if you bought it at the retail store. If you are computer savvy that is the way to look for a vehicle cover. You will have all the resources to answer all your questions about the covers either by e-mail or using the phone. Most company's have toll free numbers or online help. If you take the time to check your order with the company to make sure it is the right cover for you, you won't have to worry about returning it.

Car Covers In Todays Economy

I'm writing this article because a study shows that less and less vehicle covers are being sold today. I'm sure it's because of today's economy, I find this hard to understand. There are many new cars being bought and sold and used cars also. The one thing our economy is doing is to slow down the retail market due to lots of people loosing there jobs and the high cost of living. But if you have a car or other vehicle that has been a large or small investment for you it is only smart to protect it's value so if you need to sell or trade them down the line there value will have remained high. The number one overall item you can purchase for your vehicle may it be a car, truck, SUV, van or other type of vehicle, is a cover. The car cover will be beneficial to the protection of it's value in many ways. First it will protect your cars finish from a multitude of attackers, the sun is one of the worst causes of damage to your cars exterior finish. The UV rays will cause oxidation of the paint, also dry out all the rubber and plastic on the outside of your vehicle. Next the environment will also damage your cars exterior with acid rain, chemical fallout, bird droppings and the wind blowing sand and dirt and other objects against your cars exterior finish. There are many enemies of your car from the environment to the parking lots at work also the kids in the street, and if you park your vehicle in your carport or garage you will still need to cover it. Having your car under a carport or garage you may think it is protected, but there are many ways your car can be damaged even there. In the garage one of the most common is somebody just walking by and they may rub up against you car or even worst there keys or some metal on there pants comes in contact with your cars finish and there is just one more scratch. In the carport the number one damage to your vehicle is the car doors next to your car, how many times have you seen the telltale marks on your door from the car next to you. Doesn't that just irritate you. If you were to have a body shop give you an estimate for fixing any of the things I just mentioned you would find that you could have bought not only one cover but as many as two, three, four or even five covers. Next there is the interior of your vehicle, having your dash, seats, Cd's, DVDs and other valuable items exposed to the sun and heat that can build up fast in hot weather will speed up there destruction. You would be surprised that a cover will drop your interior temperatures by as much as 20 degrees. There are covers made just for the Southwest States that can even drop the temperatures more. Not only will these covers keep the interior temps down they will keep prying eyes from seeing your costly accessories like high priced stereos, speakers, video displays and more. So it's only smart to buy a cover for your vehicle to help protect it from losing it's value and being broken into. Even in today's economy you need to spend money on a car cover to protect your investment. Just like you spend money on cloths, food, gas, insurance and mortgage. The car covers are just as important. You have car insurance to protect you car, and you have home owners insurance to protect your home, you should also have a cover to protect your vehicles from the damage that they will most definitely receive. The cost of a vehicle cover is well worth it. Think about this article and I'm sure you will agree with me, that it's not that much money to spend for the overall value you will receive.

Car Covers And The Summer Sun

Car covers are made to protect your car all year around but at this time of the year it is even more important then ever to have your car covered. The sun can cause more damage to your car than you may think. Your car's paint is under constant attack by the sun's UV rays, industrial fallout, acid rain. Left unprotected your car's paint will suffer irreversible damage. Not only is the paint in danger your interior is under attack from the heat the sun generates. On a mild 73°F day, the temperature inside a car can reach 120°F in 30 minutes. On a 90°F day, the interior can reach 160°F in minutes. This will cause your dash and other materials to dry out and crack, also any plastics may melt, like your CD'S or DVD's. Having a car cover can protect your vehicle from this and a lot more.

There are many types of car covers on the market today but one cover will help you protect your vehicle better then any other cover form UV rays. This cover is the Tyvek cover made from a white material that not only reflects the sun but is also water resistant.

There are many types of protection to protect your interior like window shades that will help keep the sun off your interior, these are good but usually only cover the front windshield and that means that the sun still can damage other parts of your interior, this also allows the temperatures to clime in your interior damaging all your plastic items. With a car cover you will be protecting the hole interior from the sun's rays also helping to keep temperatures down protecting any items in your car and making it nicer when you need to get in and go somewhere. The overall protection that a car cover provides is well worth the price. It will help you keep the value of your car and you will spend less time washing your exterior and conditioning your interior from the sun's drying and heat damage.

The one thing I can think of that may be a drawback to this cover is the fact that this cover is only one layer thick and is vary light weight. In windy conditions it may be hard to keep it on your car or other vehicle, yes this cover does come with two tie down grommets in the middle of the cover to help keep it in place with a cable lock or bungee cords to help secure it.
So if you live were the wind is strong and blowing all the time you might want to buy a three or four layer cover to help keep it in place. These covers are also UV protected and ether water resistant or waterproof, they also come with tie down grommets to secure it from the wind and the extra weight of these covers will keep them in place. Having a cover on your vehicles will be a benefit to you and your vehicles.

Car Covers Custom Or Semi Custom ?

The question is are custom covers better then the semi custom covers. The custom cover makers claim that a custom cover is a better product and to some extent that is true. When you buy a custom cover you can ask for a lot of extras that will also cost you more. This will take longer to receive it at your door. Yes there is a bigger selection on options with custom covers like mirror pockets, logos, colors and material choice. If you think that mirror pockets are cool well I have talked to many people that have told me how they are a pain when covering and uncovering there vehicle. They have also told me how that it is the first place the cover wears out. Yes the cover looks better with mirror pockets but are they worth the hassle? A semi custom cover fits right over the mirrors and will not take additional time to get put on. Even if you have a truck with large mirrors the semi custom cover will adapt to them were the custom cover will not. If you were to change you mirrors after you bought the custom cover it will no longer fit your vehicle. So in my opinion the semi custom covers are better because the are without mirror pockets.

Logo's are a nice touch for your car cover, things manufacturer logo's, even sport logo's, there all types of logo's to make your vehicle reflect how you are. When you buy a semi custom cover most retailers don't offer logo's but you can have it done for yourself at any alteration shop that does that kind of work and the cost is minimal. So it may be nice to have your custom cover with the logo but this will also slow down the delivery time. If you would like a logo on your semi custom cover you can have it and you will receive the cover a lot sooner.

Colors are a nice touch and that is one thing the custom cover can offer to you. Most of the semi custom retailers only offer a few colors. If this is a high point then you will pay a bigger price for this were as the semi custom cover will not come with the higher price due to color.

Material choice is something you will have to decide and it can make a lot of difference as to how the cover will preform and also protect your vehicle. The custom covers come in a lot of material choices from interior dust covers to show covers and of course exterior covers. They will have a bigger selection of material types to pick from and this will make it a harder choice for you. The semi custom covers will only offer you the material choices you need to properly protect your vehicle, a light weight material for interior use, the three layer covers for exterior exposure like sun, rain, snow and ice. The four layer cover that provides all the protection of the three layer covers plus a interior lining of fleece to help protect your clear coat finish on your new or repainted vehicles. This extra protection is a must to keep your finish looking new for an extended amount of time. This makes buying a semi custom cover a much easier choice overall and you will be receiving your cover much sooner then a custom cover.

As a web retail seller of semi custom covers for all vehicle applications I find that my customers are happier with their choice and can cover the vehicles in a couple of days not weeks waiting for the custom cover to arrive. My website offers all the customer care that the custom cover sites offer and the warranties are even better and the return and exchange is better. When you order a custom cover if there is anything wrong with the cover it is harder to return and exchange because it has been made custom for you and your vehicle. The warranties are short and won't cover all the things the semi custom cover warranty covers.

Where And How To Buy A Car Cover

Finding Covers for your vehicles isn't very hard, there are auto part stores, retail stores like WalMart and also the Internet. In most auto part stores like Auto Zone they carrier a line of covers, but they are limited to the shelving they have available, so you will not have a large selection to choose from. There will only be a few of the most common car covers, truck covers, motorcycle covers and maybe van, station wagon and so on. You will be able to order the cover you need from the counter and that will take some time to get there. You might have to pay the shipping for the cover. There are retail stores that sell vehicle covers but once again they are limited to space and choice. In most retail stores you will find a limited selection of covers and you won't be able to order the cover you need. In both the auto parts and retail store you will find high pricing on these covers.

When you buy a cover from the auto parts store they won't be as helpful in answering your questions as to sizing and which cover would work best in your area. The only information you will find is whats on the box of the cover they are selling. This makes it a crap shoot and you may have to deal with returns and just excepting the cover as is. Most of the counter help will not have a good knowledge of the covers they are selling, so you won't be able to get much information from them.

Another thing to note, retail stores won't be very helpful as to sizing and choice of cover for your area. If you try to ask a floor person about the covers they will only to able to tell you where they are. You will only be able to get information off the box the cover is in and that is very limited. Most of the covers sold in both the parts and retail stores have either websites or phone numbers on there merchandise so you can call to find out more about their covers, but if you are there in the store that won't be much help at that moment. So, there you are stuck with a decision as to what to do, take a chance and choose one that may or may not work for your vehicle.

Then there is the Internet, the one and only place you can find everything you need to know about vehicle covers of all kinds. If you don't have a computer just use a friends or go to your local library and they will have computers you can access. Once you have access to the Internet you will be able to find any and everything about vehicle covers you ever wanted to know. To get things started in the search box type in what you are looking for like car covers or truck covers and hit enter this will give you about 20 t0 40 hundred thousand sites to choose from don't panic you really only need to check out the first 3 to 5 pages to find what you need to know about vehicle covers. There will be sites that sell covers and there will be sites that will explain about covers in every way you can think of. If for some reason you don't see what you are looking for just type a question in the search box and hit enter, this will direct you to more information on the subject about you are looking for. The really nice thing about the Internet is you can ask questions of the car cover site you are looking at, just by going to their contact page and submitting it there or you can call them toll free and get the question answered quickly right on the spot. Even if you have never used a computer before give it a try you will find that the Internet has become vary user friendly and if you need some help most of your friends or the Liberian will be able to help you find what you need.

So in my opinion the best place to find and buy vehicle covers for your cars, trucks, SUV's, vans, station wagons and more is the world wide web it is truly the information highway and is the quickest and most reliable source of shopping today.

Truck Covers And A Lot More !

There is a good reason for the truck cover and there are many more accessories you can add to your trucks looks. The truck cover is just as important as any other vehicle cover, when you cover your truck you are loving your truck. Using a truck cover will protect your trucks looks and also keep your interior safe from the sun and prying eyes. In the next couple of paragraphs I will explain the need and usefulness of covering your trucks and any other vehicle you own. Then I will talk about the many truck accessories that you can use to make your truck stand out and also reflect your own personality.

When you first get your truck either new or used you should consider buying a truck cover to protect it's value and exterior from harmful effects that the weather and many other attacks your truck could suffer. The cover will also help your interior look it best over the years you will have this vehicle. Your truck may be parked outside or in your garage or even under a carport. In all these situations you should have a cover, there are truck covers to protect your truck if it is out doors 24 - 7, these covers are made to stand up to all that mother nature can throw at it. The three layer or four layer covers are treated with waterproofing and UV protection, they have a longer warranty period and come in many different colors. Then there are truck covers that will be used outdoors like under a carport where the weather can still get to it. These covers can handle the rain and sun and are easy to cover and uncover your vehicle. The EZ Rollup covers are designed to be quick and easy to use. They come in a drum that can dispense the cover quickly and with a handle to retrieve the cover for storage. It's Time For A New Car Cover

This week I'm going to talk about when you can tell it's time for a new car cover. There are many covers made today and they all have there time for replacement. When you buy a car cover they come with a warranty and this warranty will cover the material, tie down grommet, UV and waterproof protection as well as the seams and elastic hem in the front and back. If any of these has a problem during the warranty period you should contact the seller or manufacturer and inquire about a replacement. So I'm going to explain what your warranty will cover and when you should replace your cover after the warranty has run out and the cover is showing signs of wear.

First let's talk about the warranty, all warranties vary from type of cover and manufacturing company. (1) Material: the warranty will cover any type of defect in the material under normal use. (2) Tie down grommets: Covers that come with tie down grommets will be covered under the warranty for defects under normal use. (3) UV and Waterproofing: Car Covers come with different types of protection, some are rated low for the UV and water protection and others are rated high for this protection. The warranty will cover you based on which cover you bought and the UV and Waterproof treatment as per each cover type. It should provide the UV and Waterproofing for the covered time under the warranty time period. (4) Seams: This means that seams shouldn't come apart during the warranty time period under normal use. (5) Elastic Hems: Most Car covers come with elastic hems to help keep the cover on your car, they shouldn't lose there elasticity or come apart under normal use. All these warranties vary and are up to each company as to how they will handle and respond to there claims.

Now to the cover that needs replacement after the warranty has run out. Most if not all car covers will out last there warranty period, So you need to take a close look at your cover at the end of each season and check for wear and problems that will cause the cover to stop protecting your vehicle. The first thing is checking to see if the material is still in good shape and still protecting your car from the environment. Like is it still preventing the rain to penetrate the cover, and also stopping the UV rays from damaging your finish and interior. The best way is to first clean your cover to get all the dirt off from this past season, check your site where you purchased it for cleaning instructions. Then put the cover on your car and let it completely dry. Then taking your garden hose and simulate a rain storm don't stand close and blast the cover just let the rain fall on the cover. After you have done this then check if the cover is still stopping the rain from getting to you cars finish. If you find that water is coming through the cover it is time to replace it. To check for UV protection is a bit tricky, take the cover after you have cleaned it and let it completely dried remove it from the car and on a sunny day stand under it and look towards the sun for weak spots in the material where the sun can come through to damage your car. If you see weak spots or thin spots then you should replace the cover. Checking the seams is easy to do just follow each seam and look for damage or sewing coming apart, if you can repair this great if not you may want to replace the car cover. To check the elastic hems check to see if they will still stretch and retract and if they still hold the car cover tight under the front and rear of your vehicle, if they are getting all stretched out or loose and not able to hold your cover securely to your vehicle I would suggest replacing the cover before the next big wind, having a loose cover can damage your finish by rubbing on it. One last thing to check is the tie down grommets located along the bottom hem in the middle of your vehicle cover. Check to see if they are still tight in the material and not beginning to pull out of the cover. These tie down grommets are a great help to keep your car cover on during and windy condition. You can use the cable lock or a bungee cord to secure your car cover.

Well I hope this will help to maintain your car covers and to keep then in good shape for the protection of your investment may it be your car or other vehicle. If you think I may have left out something please comment on this article and let me know and I will respond to your comment.

The Pros & Cons Of Car Covers

I would like to let my readers know the pros and cons of vehicle covers. As you must know, there are many car covers on the market today and if you go online you will find many web sites that sell car covers. There also many blogs and article sites that can give you information concerning the buying, application, care, directions and just about anything you would want to know about vehicle covers. In this article I will give you the good and bad things about vehicle covers.

Lets start with the pros of having a car cover, when you have a cover for you vehicle you will be protecting the car or other vehicle from loss of value. The many nice things about car covers are in the winter you won't need to scrape your windows or push the show off your car when you get up in the morning to go to your job. The cover will save your interior from sun damage like fading, cracking of your dash, and loss of value. There are many more pros the covers have, like in the rain stopping moisture from damaging your finish on your car, or keeping your vehicle safe from damage when you park it in your garage in the driveway or on the street. The covers come in many different styles, colors and material to give you choices and uses you may have. When you are in the process of selecting your cover your need to look for a cover that will be good in the climates and conditions you will be using it in. There are many places to purchases your cover from, like retail stores, Internet web sites, Ebay and more. So do your research and make sure you get the car cover or vehicle cover that will benefit your vehicle the best.

Now for the cons of car covers, there are a few of them and they come from mostly making the wrong choice. First that comes to mind is buying the wrong cover for your vehicle, like size and material choice. If you buy the wrong size cover for your car or vehicle this can damage the finish and can come off in windy conditions, If the cover is to big it can rub on your vehicles finish in windy conditions and damage it. Also if the cover is to big it will be hard to keep on your vehicle in windy conditions. Next if you select the wrong material it may not protect your vehicle from all that mother nature will throw at it like sun, rain, wind, bird droppings, scratches, dings, dirt and more. Always research what material you will need for your weather conditions and the location you will be using it. Then there is the Internet always check the web site you are going to make your cover purchase from this will make the process of return and exchange easier also check there warranty polices out to cover your butt. If you don't check out the site you are going to use you might find out down the road that they won't give you the best customer service.

The more you will learn about car covers and other vehicle covers the more you will realize the benefits they offer. You will never regret the purchase of a car cover and will only reap the benefits when you go to sell or trade your vehicle in.

Car Covers Now !

Well here it is the first of April and the weather is changing, Now is the time to think about purchasing a car cover and to start protecting your vehicle from the spring weather. After the winter months are gone comes the rainy season. It's nice not having to scrape the windows and clear the snow off your vehicle. At this time of year the one thing that is different is now there actually is more moisture than the winter. Why, because in the winter the moisture is frozen and there is less water to contend with therefore your car cover isn't as wet where as in the spring the vehicle covers are wet and stay that way until the sun can dry them out. The same car covers you use in the winter may not hold up as well to the wetness if they have been around for a few years. The seams may begin to leak and if the cover is quite old you may find that the waterproofing isn't working as well.

If you have been using your car cover this winter you may want to take a close look at it to see how well it's holding up. Check the seams to see if they are frayed or coming apart. One way to check you cover to see how well it is protecting your vehicle is to put the cover on and take your garden hose and spray it like it was raining and see if any water is passing through the cover onto your vehicle or after you place the cover on your vehicle check all the seams for problems.
Now is a good time to check and replace your cover if it needs it. Soon the rains will be here and you will be ready for them. Nothing can cause more damage to your vehicle than rusting and blisters on your the finish. So, don't wait till the storms are here, an ounce of prevention is worth not needing a new paint job.

So far we have talked about the winter conditions of the Northern and Eastern part of the country. There are also the Southern and Western portions of the country to think about. The Northwest does get the winter conditions like the Eastern part of the US but they also get a lot of ice and rain during the winter months where the Southern part of the US gets rain and sun, and lot's of it. So even if you are in the Southern part of this country you also should be checking your vehicle covers to see how they have held up this winter because the sun is going to be hotter and the rain will be more intense. Time to put the cover on and stop to to check it out for weak spots or seams that are showing wear and tear. If you see any of the things I have talked about your should think about replacing your car cover before you vehicle suffers damage from the sun and rain. One thing is if your cover seams are coming apart check your warranty to see if you are still covered, seams are one of the covered items in your warranty, so you should contact your supplier and get the cover replaced.

I always check my vehicle covers every season to make sure they are doing what I bought them for and that is to protect my investment. With the economy today the cost of replacing your vehicle is not the best thing. What you have invested in your vehicle you want to preserve until you will either trade it in or sell it outright. And to get the best return you should try your best to protect your investment. Covering your vehicles is just one good way to keep it's value.
