Make Your Car Last As Long As Possible!

Cars are very important and sometimes their drivers are very close to them. They might love them so much that they go out and find something to prolong their lives and to make their car run for as long as possible. There are a number of things an owner can do to make their car last forever, well at least as long as possible. One thing is easy as covering up your car with a car cover. All things of this nature can be placed in one of these three areas.

Out of all the components that make up an automobile, motors, suspensions and transmissions have a way greater punch then the paint on your car. Exterior specs are not really of importance to making the car last forever, but a quality Budge car cover will extend the life of your paint job.

Although if you have a car and it looks worn it may appear as a lug of junk. Exterior rust and other long term problems will cause it to appear ugly but will most likely not harm the drive of the car. Every week the outside of the car should be taken care of. This should include washings and wax every time it is needed. Small cracks and stuff should be repaired fairly soon. A quality car cover is also a good idea.

The car should always be protected from the elements every time it is possible. That's why you should invest in a quality car cover for your car. There is no justification to why a car should be left outside to ruin in the heat of the sun.

If a car has sustained a mechanical problem it should be fixed as soon as possible before use again. Repairs are of top priority to a car owner. Often maintenance is overlooked and a car goes on ruining. Every 3000 miles or every three months the oil should be changed you should wash and care for the car and tune ups and regular check ups should be made on the car every month.

Many times a car owner will have the attitude of if it's not broken then don't worry about fixing it. This common way of thinking will have most car owners in tears when their car is broke down just because they didn't pour engine coolant in the area where needed. When you see other older cars around that look and sound like they are brand new the owner most likely cares for the car like his own child.

Cars have strong motors, but can be tuned to perfection also. It is important to know what your car can handle don't try and see how fast your car can go without the parts needed or your motor just might give out and you might put a piston through the hood. Learn about your car before you test its limits.

Tips on Outdoor Car Covers

With winter just a stone's throw away and fall in full season, we're looking at what could be some very harsh weather conditions in the end of 2008 and into 2009. However, whether you're in the mid-west where leaf foliage is at high levels, or in the west or east coast areas where rainfall may reach extreme levels, I'm going to go over one of the easiest ways to protect the exterior of your vehicle. It's as simple as one two three with a car cover. You'll stay protected at a very reasonable price, keeping your precious ride in tip top shape.

For me, the issue became apparent that I need something to protect my ride when I had bird droppings and tree droppings on my windshield on a weekly basis. I would get it washed at least twice a month to keep it nice and shining so these costs were really adding up. It looked great, but I still had to deal with the bird spots on my windshield in between washing. Let me just say, I pretty much despise birds now :)

So what I wanted to find was a better long-term solution. A car cover seemed like it would require a lot of hands on work and I didn't really want to deal with that on a daily basis. What I ended up finding out was that it took about 1 minute to put it on when I got to work, and even less time to take it off. And I was able to cut down my car wash costs to once a month.

So this leads to my overall recommendation. Since I have a feeling this will be a harsh winter, I really think those that spend a lot of time and money keeping their cars looking nice should get an outdoor car cover. It also helps protect your vehicle from those little nicks and dents that can happen in parking lots.

What I found in most retail stores were pretty inexpensive car covers, but I didn't just want to wrap my car in just any car cover. So what I looked for was an outdoor cover that was made of high quality material from Budge Industry. That's all I want to place on my car, otherwise it wouldn't be worth the investment.

I went with a fabric with several durable qualities, here's what clickitcoverit.com offers:

Which car cover is best for you?

All car covers are not created equal. There are many types and weights of fabric, all designed to do a specific job. Selecting a car cover is not something to be taken lightly, particularly if you're serious about protecting your favorite ride. Various factors should enter into your selection, but the most important is where you are parking or storing your car. Do you need a simple dust cover or a super cover that can stand up to seriously bad weather? Both types, and everything in between, are available from several suppliers, but here we'll look at some of the criteria surrounding car covers and how to select the right one for your application.

Performance
The material you select should be breathable and protect your vehicle against one or more of the following—sun, heat, rain, snow, acid rain, dust, dirt, dings, scrapes, mildew, rot. Each manufacturer might have a different brand name for their individual product grades but the material and performance will be almost identical. Obviously a little research will be required to ensure that you have the right material for your storage conditions. Consult with your retailer about the features and benefits before investing in a car cover.

Features
We've all seen the torn cover blowing in the wind. The physical construction can differ dramatically between manufacturers. Regardless of the manufacturer you select, the highest quality covers feature double-stitched overlapping seams to prevent against rips, Neoprene elastic sewn into the front and rear hems to hold the cover in place, reinforced non-scratch grommets with protective flap and, optionally available, a vinyl-coated cable and lock for security. Many car covers feature a coating or laminate on the outside only, which can wear off or delaminate. Always compare construction of the vehicle cover as closely as you examine the protection value of the material.

Air/Space
Let's look at what type of car cover will work for you. Some fabrics focus on protection from a specific element, such as intense sun or dust/dirt. One of the most important factors to consider is breath ability; you don't want to trap moisture UNDER the cover. Condensation causes mildew and rot, and can ruin your paint in one season. If your vehicle is stored in a closed, dry garage, then a lightweight dust cover would probably be your best choice. It can breathe and protect the paint finish. If you have a carport or partially exposed exterior parking, then an all-weather cover would be the logical choice. For the completely exposed, out-in-the-weather parking condition, a specialty fabric is required for substantial protection.

Insurance
Car cover maintenance and storage are also considerations. Do you have to have the car cover professionally cleaned or can you wash it at home? When not in use are you going to store it in the car or in the garage? Obviously, having a car cover you can wash and dry at home is advantageous, as is a tiny storage footprint in your car. So you can see that buying a car cover is not as simple as handing over your credit card. Once you make the decision on the type of car cover that's right for you, check out the various brands, construction and what will fit into your budget. But remember the old adage "you get what you pay for." Buying a top-quality vehicle cover is like life insurance for your interior and paint finish. Don't skimp on the one item that will give your investment the protection it deserves.

Two Main Types of Car Covers

Car covers such as the Budge car covers vary in designs from one car cover to another. Car covers follow the body shape and contour of specific cars. Hence, most car covers are semi-custom-fitted to specific models. However, cars of similar body types may share car covers. There are basically two types of car covers, namely, the waterproof car cover and the cloth car cover. The waterproof car cover is typically woven from polymer fibers such as nylon. This type of car cover is sometimes layered with synthetic leather. Water-proof car covers are used for outdoor parking. On the other hand, the cloth car cover is used indoor. It is commonly woven out of synthetic silk or rayon. The main purpose of a car cover is to prevent dust and other dirt from damaging the paint finish of the automobile. Car covers also protect the car from minor scratches and from the elements. Waterproof car covers are effective mean of shielding the car against the damaging ultra-violet ray of the sun, rain, and bird droppings.

Waterproof car covers are particularly useful when you are parking outdoors. Pro-long exposure to the elements can result to expensive damages on your car. Although rain is generally harmless, rain showers can sometimes become acidic, especially in urban settings. Pollutants in air such as nitrous oxides can combine with the water vapors in the clouds, rendering them to become acidic. Consequently, when these water vapors precipitate as rain, they can corrode the metal surface of a car. On the other hand, prolong exposure to the sun will lead to the cracking of paint finish and damage to the upholstery. Bird droppings and other animal droppings are also common problems of parking outdoors. Even in urban settings there are few parking spaces with roofs. Most parking spaces are open areas that are exposed to the elements. If you plan to leave you car for a long period of time in an open parking space, it would be prudent to cover your car with waterproof car cover. Waterproof car covers such as the Elite Supreme car cover will not only protect your car against the rain but also will protect your car against other damaging factors.

A car cover such as a Budge car cover may also be used to flaunt the sexy contours of your car. Cloth car covers, for instance, are commonly used for indoor parking. These cloth car covers are thin and soft, which have delicate textures. This type of car covers is typically used during car shows. The anticipation and curiosity of people attending car shows are heightened by the fact that the cars are hidden under the car covers. Car covers accentuate the sexy curves and delicate contours of cars. Hence, they titillate the senses of the viewers. Most car shows feature ceremonial unveiling events that are central and anticipated aspects. Car covers such as the Budge car covers have vital roles to play during car shows. Aside from car shows, cloth car covers are very useful for indoor parking. They prevent the accumulation of dust and other dirt on the surface of a car. A cloth car cover also has an advantage over a water-proof car cover. A cloth car cover allows heat to radiate and it doesn't trap moisture underneath.

Car Covers Protect your Investment and Save you Money

Ask anyone why they purchased a car cover and they all give you a different answer. Yet, the underlying reason will be the same; they want to protect the investment in their vehicle.

Car covers and car cover fabrics are generally misunderstood. Many believe that the inexpensive off-the-shelf cover they can pickup in their local discount store or auto parts dealer is the same as the high quality Budge car cover available from Budge Industries. But, this is a mistake and the quality cover from Budge can cost less long term over the life of the cover.

The inexpensive local alternative car covers are not much more than large bags of various materials with elastic bands to help hold the cover in place. Whereas, a Budge car cover is cut to exact measurements provided to Budge from the vehicle manufacturer (think Ford, Chevy or BMW) directly. So the fit on the vehicle is perfect and adds to the protection since there are no baggy areas to blow around in the wind. Many of the patterns for car covers have mirror pockets and some even have pockets for the new smaller stubby antenna and/or satellite radio antennas.

Another difference between the covers is the wide selection of fabrics available for the covers. The fabric is key to the effectiveness of the cover and many of the low cost options don’t stand up to even the most mild of weather situations. Fabrics available from Budge are designed first and foremost to protect the vehicle from dust, dirt and pollen. Basically, they keep the vehicle clean which saves you time and money on washing and detailing the vehicle.

Outdoor car covers fabrics go beyond the basics of keeping a car clean have water resistance and UV reflectance properties. On the topic of water resistance, no Budge car cover is waterproof. Why is this? Simply because if you place a waterproof cover over a vehicle, any moisture that is normally in the air or any water puddles under the car will evaporate and become trapped between the car and cover. This will create a “greenhouse effect” and cause the water to condense on the vehicle which can lead to damage. With a Budge cover the fabrics are designed to “breathe”, that is they allow the microscopic water molecules to escape out of the fabric keeping your vehicle clean and dry. The outer layer of the cover will repel most of the rain and moisture that hits it so you have protection inside and out.

UV damage can occur in any area but more so in climates with brilliant sunshine all year round. You’ve seen the faded or cracked dashboards or discolored seats in many vehicle. But, with a Budge car cover most damaging sun rays are reflected so you not only protect your paint and finish but your interior as well. An additional benefit in sun protection is that your interior stays cooler in the hot summer months.

Other benefits of Budge car cover fabrics included protection from dings and dents, acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, snow and ice. Every area has unique weather and external factors that threaten your car’s appearance, so it makes sense that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for your car cover needs. This is where Budge Industries and their specialized line of semi custom car covers can help keep your car, truck or other vehicle clean and looking brand new.
