The Right Car Cover

Have you been looking for a car cover but don't know which cover to buy, I hope this article will help you make that decision. When you are in the market for a cover you will find there are many covers to choose from. A lot of that decision will be based on your location i.e. where the cover will be used and warranty and retailer information. The first thing we will talk about is the location that you will be using this cover. By location I mean are you in the Northern part of the USA or Canada? Or are you located on the East coast, West coast, Midwest, Southern states etc. Each one of these locations have their own weather. This should influence your decision on which cover you will need. The cold and snowy states will warrant a waterproof cover that will stand up to snow, ice, rain as well as the sun. There are the three layer and four layer covers that will handle these conditions. Next where the cover will be used, such as a garage or outside in the weather. If you will be covering a vehicle indoors like a garage, carport or storage building you will need a cover that will block dust and bird droppings also bumps and scratches. They make these covers in single layer and double layer. The single layer cover will stop dust and protect you vehicle if you are storing it. The double layer cover goes one step further by not only stopping dust but also stopping bird droppings from getting thought to your vehicles finish and it will also help protect against bumps and scratches from activity around your vehicle. These two layer covers are great for in the garage or under a carport. they are water resistant and UV treated to help with some exposure to the weather such as what may occur under a carport but are not recommended for outdoor use. Then there are the three and four layer covers made to handle all the conditions from inside storage to full time outdoor use. The three layer cover has a durable 1st layer with a breathable 2nd layer and a protective 3rd layer, all three of these layers make a waterproof and UV protective cover that will stand up to Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall and all your inside and outside storage needs. The four layer covers have all that the three layer cover has and then one more layer of fleece on the inside to protect your clear coat finish, great for your newer and show cars. I know when you are looking for a cover you will see many different types of names for these covers, but in the long run they all have either one to four layers of protection. So now that you know which cover you need the next thing to talk about is warranties. Covers come with one to five years of protection but they have limited liability. Which means you need to read the warranty and find out what it covers, most warranties cover just the normal manufacturer defects, some cover more. So as a consumer you have to read to make sure your cover will be replaced if something goes wrong. The last thing to talk about is the retailer, there are good retailers and bad, some of them offer a great return policy and even free shipping. There are ways to check on the retailer you want to use, I think that any good retailer should belong to the Better Business Bureau. The BBB has a very good reputation of keeping retailers honest. Check for the BBB link on the web site that you are thinking of using, you can check if there has been any complaints. You can also check the web to see if there has been any complaints about the retailer. Any reputable retailer should have a customer service number you can call to see if they really stand behind what they advertise. With this information in hand you should now be able to make a good choice in vehicle covers as well as RV, truck, van, boat, ATV, golf cart and any other covers you what to buy.

Car Covers And Christmas Holidays

Hi everybody this blog has been about sharing information on covers, from the simple car cover to the large RV covers. And it's that time of year to stop and thank all the people that have helped our websites and blogs do so well. From all of us at D. R. Global Marketing thank you and have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year. Now that we have said our thank you we need to carry on with the cover information highway. This time of year there are more then a few good reasons to purchase a cover for your vehicles and RVs. Just look outside and what do you see? If you are in the Eastern part of this country you probably see snow and ice. If your from the Midwest you will be looking at either snow or rainy conditions, then there is the Southwest part of this great country and yes the sun is still shining bright there. If you are from this part of the country count yourself as one of the lucky ones. There are covers for both vehicles and RVs that are made just for the intense sun UV rays. These covers are called the Tyvek cover it uses a material made by Dupont. This material will stand up to the sun much better than any other cover material in the Southern part of our country. It is white to reflect the sun and help keep your vehicle or RV cool on the inside. The Tyvek cover is a single layer cover that provides both waterproofing and UV protection. I recommend this cover to all our customers that live in the Southwest and any place that needs that extra protection from the sun. Now for the customers that live in the Northwest, Midwest or East and far North. There are covers made for you in mind. First the 3 layer waterproof cover will provide great protection from snow, ice, rain, damp conditions and long periods of seasonal storage. This cover is made with three layers the first layer is made of a durable material the middle layer is a waterproof but breathable material and the third layer is a protective material. This cover is an excellent cover for the cooler and wet parts of this country and others. Then there's the four layer covers they have all the properties that a three layer cover has plus a fourth inside layer of fleece, this fleece will protect your clear coat finish on your show cars, brand new vehicles and any type of car, truck ,SUV, van or station wagon you want to give that little extra love to.
Well I think there are many good reasons to cover your vehicles both in the Winter months and Summer months and that is to protect your investment. At the price we are paying for our vehicles and RVs you need to protect them from the normal day to day nicks and scratches as well as environmental exposure from acid rain to bird droppings that can fade your paints finish.

Car Covers and Winter Weather

Well here we go again, it won't be long before the snow will be falling and the cold and wet winter will be here for the next several months. There is one thing that I really hate is to have to scrape my vehicle windows in the morning before I go to work. There is a way around doing that and that is to have a vehicle cover. When you have a cover on your car, truck, SUV or other vehicle you won't have to spend that time scraping or brushing the snow and ice from your windows. That alone will give you another 15 to 30 minutes to enjoy the warm comfort of your house or apartment, and to have another cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate before heading off to work.

It is also that time of year to winterize your RV's before the temperatures get below freezing. Make sure you drain you water storage tanks and get antifreeze pumped through all of your supply lines. The other day a friend told me about a mistake he made when winterizing his RV this year. He did all the things you should do and thought he was ready to cover his RV for the season. Turned off the appliances and shut down the propane tanks so everything was off. After putting his RV cover on he checked it the next week to make sure all was OK. As he walked around his RV he noticed a hole in the cover and it looked like a burn hole. It took him some time to think how that could have happened when everything was turned off. Well the one thing he forgot was the two way switch on his hot water tank, even though the propane was off the electric was still on and the heating element came on in the hot water tank and got hot enough to burn the cover. So he asked me to bring this to peoples attention so maybe they wouldn't make the same mistake.

So one thing you can be sure of is that winter is close by and now is the time to get ready for the cold wet days ahead. So get your RV's ready and think about that cover for your vehicles before you have to scrape those windows this year.

RV Storage Covers

It's that time of year again for storing your RVs and other vehicles for the winter months. It is very important to prepare your RV and recreational vehicles for the cold and wet months ahead. If you live in the Southern states just storing in the off months that you don't use them. In the Northern states you need to prepare your RV for the freezing temperatures and the wet snow and ice. The most important thing is draining your water tanks and using an antifreeze in your line to prevent them from breaking. Then there is the cover for your RVs and other recreational vehicles. Choosing the right cover can make a big difference in how your RV will stand up to the snow and ice. There are many types of RV covers out there, some are for the intense sun and other are for the wet and snow of winter. When you are looking for a cover for your RV I think that the Internet is the best source for information and selection of RV covers. Some of the things you want to do when looking for your RV cover is check the size of your RV. Measure for the bumper to the rear bumper to see exactly how long your RV is, the manufacture my say that your RV is a 26' travel trailer but when you measure it you find that it is 26'6" long and that can make a difference in picking the right size RV cover. Next check the width and height. Some of the new RVs are taller then said to be and you want to check this by measuring from the top edge to the bottom of the trailer edge. The covers come with room for your AC and racks on top so don't worry about that. the width has also changed over the years so you may find your trailer is wider and you need to check this when you are ordering the cover. If the cover measurements are not on the web site then give them a call and they will help you get the right size cover for your RV.

There are a couple of different types of materials to choose from in RV covers. The Tyvek cover works well in the southern states as it reflects the UV rays and helps to cool the interior temps. There are a couple of draw backs with this cover, when installing and removal you may rip this cover it is a single layer cover and can rip petty easily. I prefer the polypropylene woven fabrics that come in two or three layers. This material will breath and not allow condensation to build under the cover. The Recreational vehicle covers have been made for years now and they have a lot of nice features. Like venting at the top to help keep moisture out and dryness in. Zippered panels allow complete access to the door, rear and sides. Adjustable front and rear tension panels provide a custom-like fit and many more.

So this year when getting your RV ready for storage take the time to invest in a cover and you will be glad you did. When next spring comes around and you uncover you RV you will see how much the cover has done to protect your investment. Keeping it cleaner and also protecting your exterior finish from oxidation. It will also protect your interior from the suns UV rays that can damage things like your drapes, counter tops, rugs and any plastic fixtures. Also help to keep the temperatures down on the inside of your RV.

Car Covers For The Wet Weather.

Well fall is here and the wet and cold weather is coming soon if not already. At this time of year we start to put away all our RV toys and they should have a cover over them to protect them from the wet and snowy months ahead. From RV large and small to your ATV and other vehicles it is a great idea to cover. Having a cover will keep them high and dry till next season when you are ready to hit the road and start having some summer fun. There are a couple of things the cover will do for you. Like protect it from the moisture and sun as well as help to keep it cleaner the next time you use it.

I find fall the best time of the year, the temps start to cool and the sun is a lot less intense. The trees start to change colors and the lawn doesn't need to be mowed as much. The kids are back in school and it gives me time to work on things around the house with less distractions. Getting your RV and other vehicles ready for storage is a little work but will pay off next season. Your RV should have antifreeze in the lines and you should check all your service items before storage. Your other vehicles won't need as much work to store. Your cars and trucks that you drive every day could us a cover also to protect them from the rain, ice and snow. It's nice to get up in the AM and instead for scraping your car windows before going to work you can just pull the cover off your vehicle and your ready to go. If your cover is wet just lay it out to dry during the day and when you get home it will be ready to put back on your car. Most of the covers are mildew resistant. There are covers that are waterproof and also UV treated to help stand up to the wide variation of climates .

When you decide to look for a cover for your RV or other vehicle the Internet is the best place to start. There you will find all the information and selection of covers for all of your vehicle choices. One thing to think about when you are looking for a cover is location, were you will be using that cover in the Northwest where it rains and or snows often or in the East were there is a lot of ice and snow. Or even in the Southern states where the sun is a factor. There are covers to handle all these climates. Next you need to check the warranties to see if the cover has a long life to protect your vehicles. and don't forget to check shipping policies to see how and when you will receive your cover. You should also check what their return and exchange policies are so there are no surprises. Some sites offer free shipping which is nice. After you have done your home work then you will be ready to purchase a cover.

I have been using covers for all my vehicles and RV toys for years and when I get ready to trade or sell them they always bring me more money for the little cost of that cover. So I think it is well worth the time and money to cover and protect your investments. You will enjoy there new look and also get more out of them when its time to upgrade to something better.
